paid excess excise duty

YOGESH MITTAL

Respected Sir,

My query is , we have pay the excess excise duty for ₹ 1,90,000/- (One lac ninety thousand) on two sale bills in Aug-2014 .so please suggest, how I adjust or utilize this amount .

Thanks & Regards

Yogesh Mittal

Excess excise duty: taxpayer may seek refund or adjust the overpayment against future duty after notifying department. Taxpayers who pay excess excise duty may either file for a refund with the department or adjust the overpayment against subsequent excise duty liability; in either case they should notify the jurisdictional central excise office and furnish all supporting documentary evidence to validate and process the refund or adjustment. Dear Sir,

You shall be eligible for refund of excess excise duty paid.

File your refund application with department.

If you have paid the excess duty then you can adjust the excess duty paid in the next month duty liability or you can take the refund also.

Dear Yogesh,

In addition to the above replies, first of all provide intimation to the jurisdictional C.E. Department with all documentary evidence in this regard.

Regards,
