APPROVAL FOR EXPORT WITHOUT PAYMENT OF EXCISE DUTY (Rule 19)

CS RAHUL AGARWAL

Dear Experts,

I just want to know whether we need to obtain approval and execute bond everytime we export any other product for six months OR if only one single approval & bond is sufficient for exporting all other articles as per for Rule 19 read with 42/2001 ? I mean we are already having approval for one item we manufacture but now we wish to export other items also, so do we need to obtain approval for new item again ??

please provide valuable suggestions.

Approval & Bond for Additional Exports Under Rule 19: Single Bond Covers All, No Item-Specific Bonds Needed. A user inquired whether a new approval and bond are needed for exporting additional products under Rule 19, given an existing approval for one item. An expert clarified that a single approval and bond cover all manufactured items, so item-specific bonds are unnecessary. Another expert explained that manufacturers can export under a B-1 bond or a Letter of Undertaking (LUT), both covering all excisable goods. A further response detailed that manufacturers execute LUTs with their range office, while merchant exporters can execute a B-1 bond, with a 25% security deposit, unless exempted by an RCMC.
