Reprocess of material lying in RGI due to degradable quality

sanjay misra

Dear Sir,

We are manufacturing chemical product . Some of our finish products are become non-marketable due to poor quality. We want to squeeze the material from the original packing and reprocess the squeezed material by mixing with regular production batch and again take output in RG I register.

Please suggest me what is the the procedure adopted under excise rule. What is the documentation required for reference. One suggestion i have received is to issue captive consumption invoice under rule 11 in the self name.

Thanks

Sanjay Mishra

Chemical Manufacturer Seeks Guidance on Reprocessing Under Excise Rules Using Captive Consumption Provisions, Notification No. 67/1995CE A chemical manufacturer faced an issue with non-marketable finished products due to poor quality and sought guidance on reprocessing these materials under excise rules. The suggestion was to use captive consumption provisions and inform the jurisdictional range superintendent. Another recommendation was to record the material in the RG1 register under 'any other purpose,' prepare an excise invoice at a nil rate citing Notification No. 67/1995CE, and report the quantity in the ER-1 form with a value of zero. Informing the Excise Range was deemed optional but advisable. (AI Summary)
