CENVAT Credit Available for Capital Goods Used in Both Dutiable and Exempted Goods; Six-Month Rule Not Applicable. A user raised a query about using CENVAT credit on one-year-old machinery, which was initially intended for exempted products but is now considered for excisable goods. The user struggled with English, leading to requests for clarification. A consultant clarified that CENVAT credit is available for capital goods used in manufacturing both dutiable and exempted goods, as the six-month restriction does not apply to capital goods. However, credit cannot be claimed if the machinery is used exclusively for exempted goods. The consultant encouraged the user to improve their English skills. (AI Summary)
