Cenvat Credit Denied for Roofing Sheets; Allowed for HR Sections Only in Capital Goods Fabrication per Rule 2(k). A query was raised regarding the eligibility for Cenvat credit on roofing sheets and HR buildup sections used in the expansion of a paper mill. The consensus among the respondents is that Cenvat credit is not admissible for roofing sheets used for building roofs. For HR sections, credit is only allowed if they are used in the fabrication or manufacturing of capital goods, not for support structures. The responses align with Rule 2(k) of the Cenvat Credit Rules, 2004, which defines the conditions under which such credits can be claimed. (AI Summary)
