Reversal of Cenvat Credit

Guest

One of the Client has already debited Cenvat Credit on Input Services to Profit and Loss Account. Whether the same can be reversed ...???

Reversal of Cenvat Credit: eligible input service credit reversible subject to proving eligibility, timely invoice and accounting reversal. Reversal of Cenvat credit debited to profit and loss is permissible if the service is an eligible input service, provided the taxpayer can prove eligibility, the invoice satisfies the required timing condition, and the earlier P&L accounting entry can be reversed to reinstate the credit. If it is a eligible input service for cenvat credit, it can done. However, it is subject to other conditions such as proving eligibility to input service, invoice is dated within 6 months, possibility of reversal in P/L etc.
