SSI UNIT NEED TO GENERATE BOND FOR EXPORT AT NEPAL

Mehul Pandya

Sir,

My query is our is a SSI unit having our turnover under the exemption limit i.e. 1.5 CR. Now we required to export our material to Nepal without payment of duty. So can we export the same without giving any bond. Because its Assessable Value will be included in 1.5Cr. Exemption. as per SSI Notification.

Clarification sought on duty-free exports to Nepal by SSI units under 1.5 crore exemption; bond requirement debated. An SSI unit with a turnover under the 1.5 crore exemption limit inquires about exporting goods to Nepal without paying duty or executing a bond. One respondent clarifies that export goods are not included in the SSI exemption. Another advises that excisable goods exported to Nepal require a bond under Notification No. 45/2001-C.E.(N.T.), and their value counts towards the exemption limit. A third respondent refers to the CBEC manual for detailed procedures. The original inquirer cites notifications suggesting no bond is needed, referencing Notification No. 42/2001-CE (NT) and Circular No. 928/18/2010. (AI Summary)
