Cenvat Credit

Guest

Dear All,

Good Morning...............

Is there any time limit to avail Cenvat Credit.

If yes pl provide the notification/rule details.

Regards,

RK

CENVAT Credit must be claimed within six months from bill issuance per Rule 4(7) amendment effective September 1, 2014. A query was raised regarding the time limit for availing CENVAT Credit. It was clarified that the time limit is six months from the date of the bill's issuance, as per an amendment effective from September 1, 2014. This amendment was introduced through Notification No. 21/2014-CE(NT), dated July 11, 2014, and is detailed in the sixth proviso to Rule 4(7) of the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004. Another participant agreed with this explanation. (AI Summary)

Dear Sir,

The time limit to avail CENVAT credit is now six months from the date of issue of bill as stipulated in Rule 9 of CENVAT Credit Rules. This has come into effect from 01.09.2014 by means of amendment to CENVAT Credit Rules vide Notification No. 21/2014-CE(NT), dated 11.07.2014. Refer 6th proviso to Rule 4(7) of CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004
