Company Seeks Guidance on Transferring Goods Between Units; Clarification on Excise Documentation for Transfers Needed A company with two manufacturing units in Haridwar, one non-excisable and the other registered under central excise, seeks guidance on transferring raw materials and finished goods between the units. An expert advises that since the first unit produces non-excisable goods, it cannot claim duty credit on raw materials. However, raw materials can be transferred to the second unit with an invoice showing value and duty, allowing the second unit to avail credit. Finished goods from the non-excisable unit can be transferred under a commercial invoice without duty. Further clarification is sought on required excise documentation for the transfer. (AI Summary)
