Export by SEZ Unit on Off day

Ashok Chopra

Dear Forum

I am SEZ Unit and stuffing container in the unit want to export on Saturday or Sunday or any other Government Holiday.

Is there any procedure by depositing Merchant Overtime or permission from higher authorities for export on off day?

If yes, please provide me copy of circular/clarification/notification or section of SEZ Act/Rules

Thanks and regard

SEZ Units Can Export on Weekends, Holidays with Merchant Overtime Charges; Prior Customs Officer Request Required. An SEZ unit inquired about exporting on weekends or government holidays, questioning if special procedures or permissions are needed. Responses indicated that Merchant Overtime (MOT) charges must be paid, and a prior request for customs officer services is necessary. The application is scrutinized, and fees are calculated based on prescribed rates. Relevant customs circulars were cited for further guidance, and it was recommended to consult the jurisdictional SEZ customs officer for detailed clarification. (AI Summary)
