Chartered Accountant explores career shift to indirect taxation; advice includes gaining practical experience and leveraging audit skills. An individual working in the audit field seeks advice on transitioning to a career in indirect taxation, questioning whether additional courses are necessary. A respondent advises pursuing professional qualifications like CA, ICWAI, or CS alongside the current job, emphasizing that audit experience is beneficial for a taxation career. The individual clarifies they are already a chartered accountant and seeks further guidance on courses or steps to transition. The respondent suggests that practical experience is key, noting that the CA qualification provides a strong foundation for entering the field at an associate or consultant level in reputable firms.
