Revised Treaty of Trade between the Government of India and Government of Nepal which came into force in Jan 2012 has put exports to Nepal at par with exports to other countries (except Bhutan) – ref Circular No 958/1/2012-CX dated 13th January'12. In this regard, Central Excise Notifications were released with effect from March 1, 2012.
With the above reference:
1. You can export to Nepal and receive proceeds in INR. However, by following this route you may miss out on export incentives if any eligible for your export product (FPS, VKGUY, etc)
2. The requirement of Nepal Invoice has been made redundant with the issuance of above Circular. Hence, there is no specific format for Invoice.
3. The ARE-1 will be endorsed by the Land Customs Station located in the border and copies will be handed over to the transporter. You may intimate your customer in Nepal to send the same to you upon receipt from transporter.
Hope the above information is useful.
