Cenvat Credit

narendra arora

Dear Sir,

We are importing  of zinc wire SH Code 79040030 and sale the same in indian market after repacking.

Please advice, can we claim  credit  of CVD and SAD?

Thanks

narendra

Eligibility for CENVAT Credit on Repacked Zinc Wire Hinges on Deemed Manufacturing Status Under Section 2f(III). A query was raised regarding the eligibility to claim CENVAT credit on CVD and SAD for imported zinc wire, which is repacked and sold in the Indian market. The response advised checking section 2f(III) and Schedule three of the Tariff to determine if the repacking activity qualifies as deemed manufacturing. If it does, CENVAT credit can be availed; otherwise, it cannot. (AI Summary)
