Interest on Penalty

kadam kumar

Sir,

Please provide me the details of any case laws which deals in the interest on penalty in accordance with the Customs Act,1962 where interest on penalty is not paid to the petitioners in terms of Refund Sanctions under Section 27 and 27(A) of Customs Act,1962.

If there is a case law then please mail me the order/judgement of the same as I am in urgent need of the same for filing the  appeal against the Hon'ble  Bombay High Court Orders.

Thnx a lot.

Query on Interest for Penalties Under Customs Act 1962: Sections 27, 27(A) Explored for Appeal Assistance An individual inquired about case laws related to interest on penalties under the Customs Act, 1962, specifically regarding refund sanctions under Sections 27 and 27(A). The query was for assistance in appealing a Bombay High Court order. A respondent noted that the Customs Act does not specify interest on penalties and promised to search for relevant case law. The individual requested a copy of a 1990 CEGAT order for a case involving petitioners and the Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai, which directed the payment of interest on delayed refunds. Despite efforts, the respondent could not locate the case law. (AI Summary)
