Export for repair and re-import and subsequent delivery to end user

KOHINOOR MITRA

Sir,

We imported some materials in 2005-06 and sold the same to an end-user customer in India.

We had major repairs during last year and imported spares from our foreign main suppliers  and supplied to our end user  customer in India. Unfortunately there is a mismatch of softare and hardware in the machine. After several attempts this could not be set right. Finally our foreign vendor suggested to send the desktop along with Hardware to them for verification and suitable repairs.

Unfortunately due to erasons beyond our control we have no documents available related to import of this consignment.

Could I know how to export this to our foreign vendor at Japan for repairs on returnable basis?

 Regards

Kohinoor  MItra

Company Faces Machine Issues After Import; Solutions Proposed Under Foreign Trade Policy for Re-export/Re-import Process A company faced issues with a machine due to a mismatch between software and hardware after importing spares from a foreign supplier. The foreign vendor recommended sending the machine back for repairs. However, the company lacks import documents. A respondent suggested two solutions: obtaining transaction details from the bank to facilitate re-export/re-import under the current Foreign Trade Policy, or using a Bill of Entry number to request document reconstruction from the customs commissioner for a nominal fee.
