Subsidy rates vary by Selected Area and mode (rail, road, sea, inland waterways, air) with reimbursements capped at actual or notional costs from designated rail-heads/ports, and exclude handling charges. Administrative responsibilities are allocated to District Industries Centres, State Level Committees and named Nodal Agencies, with central oversight by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion and a five year sunset.
