of <h1>CBDT Ends Quarterly Arrears Report Requirement; Info Now in Annual Statement of Remission and Abandonment.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has decided to discontinue the requirement for a quarterly statement of arrears written off under the adhoc procedure, as previously mandated by Instruction No. 929 dated March 4, 1976. This decision is based on the fact that the Annual Statement of Remission and Abandonment of claims already includes information on amounts written off under both adhoc and regular procedures. All relevant parties should be informed of this change.
