India Revises Minimum Value Addition Requirement for Copper Products to 8% in Foreign Trade Policy Amendment.
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has amended Appendix 11B in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) for the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14. This amendment, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, revises the minimum value addition requirement for certain copper products. Specifically, copper anode, copper cathode, and copper wire rods manufactured from copper concentrate now require a minimum value addition of 8%. This change is made in the public interest and is authorized under the powers granted by the Foreign Trade Policy.
