of <h1>Delhi VAT Audit Duties Shifted to Ward Officers Due to Staff Shortages and System Management Needs.</h1> The circular from the Department of Trade & Taxes, Government of NCT of Delhi, announces the transfer of VAT (Audit) functions from the Audit and Enforcement Branch to the respective VAT Officers (VATOs), Assistant VAT Officers (AVATOs), and VAT Inspectors (VATIs) of the Wards. This change is due to staff shortages and the need to manage both the old DST and new VAT systems. The VAT (Audit) Branch will continue to oversee approval, coordination, and audit strategy under the supervision of Deputy Commissioners/Joint Commissioners. The decision has been approved by the Commissioner of Trade & Taxes.
