of <h1>Mandatory body-worn cameras for customs officers during Red channel baggage checks; recordings secured, retained 30 days, supervised</h1> Airport customs officers conducting baggage examinations must wear department-issued body worn cameras (BWCs), especially at the Red channel, recording interactions from the officer's perspective; officers sign a register on donning/removal supervised by the duty superintendent, who manages shift handovers. Recordings begin when a passenger arrives or is diverted to the Red channel and stop only with superintendent approval. Data are transferred daily to a password-protected internal drive with a hard-disk backup, retained at least 30 days, and access restricted. Weekly random reviews by the AC/DC and monthly supervisory reviews are reported up the chain. The SOP is effective immediately.
