Kempegowda Airport to Allow Bangladesh Cargo Transshipments to Third Countries Starting July 2024 Under Amended Circular No. 29/2020-Customs.
The circular amends Circular No. 29/2020-Customs to permit the transshipment of Bangladesh export cargo to third countries through the Air Cargo Complex at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. Previously, such transshipments were allowed only through Kolkata and Delhi Air Cargo. This amendment, effective from July 15, 2024, aims to improve logistics efficiency and cargo evacuation by allowing goods entering India via LCS Petrapole to be transported by road to Bengaluru for airlifting. The amendment follows recommendations from relevant government ministries and will be in effect until further notice from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs.
