Centralized Bond Management Module for IPR Enforcement Launches in India, Simplifying Customs Processes Across All Ports.
The circular outlines the implementation of a Centralized Bond Management Module for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) enforcement within the Automated Recordation and Targeting System (ARTS) by Customs authorities. Effective from March 15, 2011, this system allows IPR holders to maintain a single Centralized Bond Account, facilitating the management of bonds and securities across all Indian ports. The module assigns a unique Bond Registration Number (BRN) for each account, which can be credited and debited at any Customs location. Existing right-holders can migrate to this system, which simplifies the process of handling allegedly infringing consignments.
