Importers must now file these bills electronically via the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES), enhancing automation and efficiency. The bond officer will verify the bill through ICEGATE before allowing goods removal. Any discrepancies will be resolved by customs authorities. The changes aim to improve warehouse management, facilitate trade, and ensure timely clearance, with the new procedure effective from June 15, 2016.
