Mumbai Customs Implements Risk-Based Criteria for Consignment Clearance Under Single Window Project from April 1, 2016.
The circular from the Office of the Commissioner of Customs in Mumbai announces the implementation of risk-based selectivity criteria for the clearance of consignments under the Single Window Project. Effective from April 1, 2016, this system allows simultaneous processing of Bills of Entry by Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) and Customs. Low-risk consignments will have the No Objection Certificate (NOC) requirement waived, while high-risk consignments will undergo further checks. Importers and Customs Brokers are advised to accurately declare all necessary information to facilitate smooth processing. Any issues should be reported to the Commissioner of Customs.
