India Issues Notice: Lakshadweep Anti-Profiteering Applications to be Managed by Kerala's Standing Committee Under CGST Act 2017.
The Government of India has issued a trade notice regarding the constitution of a State Level Screening Committee on Anti-Profiteering under the GST framework. The notice highlights that, under the CGST Act 2017, the Union Territory of Lakshadweep cannot form its own Screening Committee due to the absence of a legislature. Instead, anti-profiteering applications from Lakshadweep will be directly handled by the Standing Committee on Anti-Profiteering constituted by the Government of Kerala. The jurisdictional Chief Commissioner of GST will act as the Nodal Officer to receive and forward applications to the Standing Committee.
