SEBI Mandates Half-Yearly Portfolio Disclosures for Mutual Funds, Adds Equity and Debt Scheme Specific Requirements under Regulation 59A & 77.
All mutual funds registered with SEBI are required to disclose their full portfolios on a half-yearly basis as per Regulation 59A of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996. In consultation with the Association of Mutual Funds in India, additional disclosure requirements have been introduced. For equity-oriented schemes, the portfolio turnover ratio must be included as a footnote, and the industry classification for each security should be noted. For debt-oriented schemes, the average maturity period should be disclosed as a footnote. These guidelines align with Regulation 77 of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996.
