of <h1>No Charges for Closing Beneficial Owner Accounts, Transaction Fees Still Apply, Effective November 1, 2002.</h1> The circular issued by the Deputy General Manager of the Depositories and Custodial Cell on October 30, 2002, addresses the issue of account closure charges for Beneficial Owner accounts. Following discussions in a Working Group on Dematerialisation meeting, it was decided that no charges should be imposed for closing these accounts. However, applicable transaction charges may still be levied. These instructions are effective from November 1, 2002, and are directed to all stock exchanges, depositories, and custodians.
