<h1>Puducherry Excise Introduces Direct Bank Payments for Refunds; Requires Bank Authorization and Cancelled Cheque by July 1, 2015.</h1> The Puducherry Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerate has introduced a facility for direct payment of rebate or refund claims to the bank accounts of assessees or exporters. Previously, refund cheques were issued and delivered by registered post or in person, causing delays due to paperwork and clerical errors. Effective from July 1, 2015, claimants must provide a one-time bank-certified authorization and a cancelled cheque for electronic payment via RTGS/NEFT. Pending claims require authorization submission by July 1, 2015. Banks may deduct NEFT/RTGS charges, and claimants will receive the net refund amount.
