The system will enable electronic filing and automated processing of Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills. Importers and exporters must ensure their Import Export Codes (IE-Codes) are registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and transmitted to ICES. Customs Brokers, Shipping Lines, and Consol Agents must register their details in ICES. The system will maintain directories for exchange rates, currency codes, and other essential data. The process includes electronic filing, assessment, examination, and payment of duties, with specific procedures for various import and export schemes. The system aims to streamline customs processes, enhance transparency, and improve efficiency.
