New Export Rules: Boneless Buffalo Meat Must Be APEDA-Certified with QR Health Certificates Starting April 2017.
The circular outlines the procedures and conditions for exporting meat and meat products, specifically boneless buffalo meat and buffalo offals, under the current Foreign Trade Policy. Exports must be sourced from APEDA-registered meat processing plants. Since April 2015, APEDA has implemented Meat.Net, an online service for issuing Health Certificates by designated State Veterinary Officers, mandatory from April 1, 2017. These certificates, containing a QR code with processing plant details, must accompany each export consignment. Exporters and stakeholders must adhere to these procedures, and manually issued Health Certificates will not be accepted.
