<h1>Customs Notice Amends Valuation Rules for Second-Hand Machinery, Lists Approved Agencies for Inspection in India.</h1> Public Notice No. 32/2017, issued by the Commissioner of Customs, amends Public Notice No. 31/2016 concerning the valuation of second-hand machinery. It highlights the empanelment of specific Chartered Engineers for valuation purposes in accordance with the revised Appendix-2G of the Handbook Procedure 2015-20 by the DGFT. The notice lists three agencies in Tuticorin and Chennai authorized to issue inspection and appraisal reports for imported machinery. If importers fail to obtain an overseas inspection report, they can contact these agencies for the necessary evaluations. The recognition of these agencies is valid until specified dates in 2019.
