of <h1>Mandatory Electronic Sealing for Export Containers Begins March 2018; Addresses Stock Concerns and Streamlines Export Processes.</h1> The circular addresses the implementation of electronic sealing for containers by exporters under the self-sealing procedure. Initially voluntary, the procedure will become mandatory from March 1, 2018, for specified locations and from April 1, 2018, for all other ports and ICDs. The decision follows representations about insufficient e-seal stock. Exporters who have already adopted e-sealing or wish to do so voluntarily can continue if facilities are available. The circular aims to streamline export processes while accommodating current logistical challenges. Concerns or difficulties should be reported to the relevant authorities.
