Visakhapatnam Port Customs Updates: No Pre-Berthing Permissions; New Report and TSA Submission Deadlines.
The Customs Department at Visakhapatnam Port has revised procedures for international transshipment of containers. Previously required landing permissions before vessel berthing are no longer necessary. Instead, liner agents must submit vessel-wise reports to the Customs ITP Cell by the next working day after berthing. These reports should include specific data such as container numbers and vessel details. Additionally, the requirement to file a Transshipment Application (TSA) before vessel departure has been waived; agents must now apply within two working days post-sailing. Liners are responsible for ensuring containers are re-exported within six months. Other provisions from Public Notice No. 18/2007 remain unchanged.
