Revised Shipping Bill Process: Only Customs and Exporter Copies Needed per Board Circular No 55/2016-Cus.
The circular outlines the revised procedure for handling shipping bill copies following the elimination of the 'Exchange Control Copy' and 'Export Promotion Copy' as per Board Circular No 55/2016-Cus. Only two copies of the shipping bill remain: the 'Customs Copy' and the 'Exporter Copy.' The 'Customs Copy' is now submitted by exporters to shipping lines as proof of customs clearance and included in the Export General Manifest. Exporters retain the 'Exporter Copy' for their records. This change aims to streamline processes and reduce unnecessary documentation. Any issues should be reported to the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner in charge.
