Customs Accepts e-BRC as Proof for Export Sales from Aug 2012 to Mar 2014 to Reduce Costs.
The circular addresses the acceptance of electronic Bank Realization Certificates (e-BRC) from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) as proof of realization of sale proceeds for exports with Let Export Order (LEO) dates from August 12, 2012, to March 31, 2014, under the drawback scheme. The Board has decided to accept DGFT's e-BRC during this period, provided there is no specific intelligence of misuse and subject to an appropriate declaration by the exporter. This decision aims to alleviate the increased transaction costs arising from the previous requirement for additional documentation. Concerns can be directed to the Assistant Commissioner of Customs.
