of <h1>Mumbai Customs Ends Mandatory High Seas Sale Registration; Submit Documents Directly to Proper Officer for Assessment.</h1> The New Customs House in Mumbai has discontinued the mandatory registration of High Seas Sale (HSS) agreements in the Import Noting Section. Previously required documents for HSS registration, such as contracts and invoices, must now be submitted directly to the Proper Officer during the assessment process. This change aims to reduce transaction time and costs and eliminate redundant procedures. Customs Brokers or Importers must ensure all HSS details are correctly included in the Bill of Entry. The new procedure is effective from September 25, 2017, and any issues should be reported to the relevant customs officials.
