New Duty Drawback Rates Effective: Higher for Marine, Rubber, Leather, Wool, Glass, Bicycles; Lower for Certain Chemicals.
Amendments to the All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback have been implemented effective from January 25, 2018. These changes follow various representations and data analyses concerning the revised rates that took effect on October 1, 2017. The amendments include increased drawback rates for marine products, rubber articles, leather goods, wool yarn/fabric, glass handicrafts, bicycles, and certain nets. Conversely, rates have been reduced for specific chemicals. Additionally, Polypropylene Mats have been reclassified under a different tariff item, aligning with the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. Stakeholders are advised to report any difficulties to the customs office.
