India Launches Paperless Export Processing via eSANCHIT at ICES Locations; Digital Documents Now Accepted for Shipping Bills.
The circular announces the implementation of paperless processing for exports using the eSANCHIT platform at all ICES locations across India. Following successful pilots in New Delhi and Chennai, exporters can now voluntarily upload digitally signed supporting documents for Shipping Bills online, eliminating the need for hard copies. Authorized individuals must retain original documents for five years for potential inspection. The process involves logging into ICEGATE, uploading documents, and linking them to Shipping Bills. Customs officers will assess documents online, and any additional queries will be addressed similarly. A review will occur 15 days post-launch before making it mandatory. Difficulties should be reported to the Joint Commissioner of Customs, Export, ACC.
