of <h1>E-SANCHIT System Mandatory for Tuticorin Custom House from March 15, 2018: Streamline Document Submission and Clearance.</h1> The e-SANCHIT facility, allowing electronic uploading of digitally signed documents, is being extended to the Tuticorin Custom House. Initially voluntary, it will become mandatory from March 15, 2018. Customs Brokers and self-filers must develop the capability to use e-SANCHIT, as failure to file at least one Bill of Entry using this system by March 8, 2018, will result in being barred from filing on ICEGATE. The procedure involves uploading documents on ICEGATE, linking them to Bills of Entry, and ensuring compliance with digital signature requirements. Original documents must still be presented for certain verifications. The system aims to streamline document submission and facilitate online assessment and clearance processes.
