Customs Announces New Duty Drawback Rates Effective Jan 25, 2018; Increases for Marine Products, Reductions for Certain Chemicals.

Amendments to the All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback, effective from January 25, 2018, have been announced by the Customs authorities. These changes follow representations concerning the revised rates effective from October 1, 2017. The amendments include increased drawback rates for marine products, rubber articles, leather goods, wool yarn/fabric, glass handicrafts, bicycles, and certain nets. Conversely, rates for specific chemicals have been reduced. Additionally, Polypropylene Mats have been reclassified under a different tariff item. Stakeholders are encouraged to review these changes and report any issues to the relevant customs office.
