of <h1>Mumbai Customs Launches Paperless Processing Pilot for Imports; Mandatory Digital Document Upload via ICEGATE from February 13, 2018.</h1> The Customs Office in Mumbai has initiated a pilot project to implement paperless processing for import consignments, aiming to reduce physical interactions and expedite clearance. Starting January 29, 2018, authorized Customs Brokers and Importers can voluntarily upload digitally signed supporting documents via ICEGATE. This will become mandatory after 15 days. Detailed procedures for document submission are available on ICEGATE's website. The process includes logging into ICEGATE, using the e-SANCHIT link, and ensuring all necessary documents are uploaded. Documents can be linked to the Bill of Entry using a unique Image Reference Number if submitted post-generation.
