of <h1>Deadline for Radiation Portal Monitors & Container Scanners at Ports Extended to October 31, 2018, Per Para 2.54 Amendment.</h1> The public notice amends sub-paragraph (v)(ii) of Para 2.54 in the Handbook of Procedures, 2015-2020, extending the deadline for designated sea ports to install and operationalize Radiation Portal Monitors and Container Scanners. Previously set for March 31, 2018, the deadline is now extended to October 31, 2018. Ports including Chennai, Cochin, Ennore, and others must comply by this new date to continue importing un-shredded metallic scrap. Failure to meet the deadline will result in derecognition for import purposes from November 1, 2018.
