It allows passengers to make payments in Indian Rupees (INR) using credit or debit cards at duty-free shops without converting foreign currency. Duty-free shops must display prices in INR only. There is a payment limit of Rs. 25,000 for incoming passengers using INR cards at arrival halls, but no limit for outgoing passengers at departure halls. Shops must ensure that passengers are not charged in foreign currency when using INR cards. Any issues with implementing these changes should be reported to the customs office.
