of <h1>CBDT extends income tax return and audit report deadline for AY 2017-18 to November 7, 2017.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date for filing income tax returns and audit reports for the assessment year 2017-18. Initially set for September 30, 2017, and later extended to October 31, 2017, the deadline has now been further extended to November 7, 2017. This extension follows representations from various stakeholders requesting additional time. The modification applies to assessees covered under clause (a) of Explanation 2 to section 139(1) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
