Customs Office Introduces Optional Digital Procedure for Faster Drawback Claims Processing Starting November 1, 2017.
The circular from the Office of the Commissioner of Customs at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Nhava Sheva, outlines an optional procedure for digitizing the disbursement of drawback claims. Exporters and importers can submit scanned copies of their claims in PDF format to create an electronic database, ensuring timely acknowledgment. The database will include details such as receipt number, applicant information, and claim amount, with provisions for submitting supplementary documents similarly. The procedure aims to facilitate efficient processing and retrieval of claim information, effective from November 1, 2017. Any difficulties should be reported to the Joint/Additional Commissioner in charge.
