of <h1>Government Extends Compliance Period from 360 Days to 540 Days under BIS Act, 1986 Amendment.</h1> The Central Government, under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986, has amended the notification No. S.O. 2953(E) from November 19, 2009. The amendment, effective November 9, 2010, modifies sub-clause (2) of Clause I of the Order by extending the period from '360 days' to '540 days.' This change follows consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards and is issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. The original notification and its subsequent amendment were published in the Gazette of India.
