of <h1>Indian Government Mandates Quality Control for Electrical Products; Non-Conforming Items Prohibited Without Certification.</h1> The Electrical Wires, Cables, Appliances, and Protection Devices and Accessories (Quality Control) Order, 2003, issued by the Central Government under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, mandates quality control for specified electrical products. The Order prohibits the manufacture, sale, or distribution of non-conforming products lacking the Bureau's Standard Mark. Manufacturers must obtain a certification license within 45 days. The Appropriate Authority is empowered to enforce compliance, inspect premises, and test products. Export products are exempt if they meet foreign specifications. The Order outlines obligations for manufacturers and dealers to provide information and comply with directives.
