of <h1>Finance Ministry Forms Committee for Direct Tax Arrears Recovery and Policy Recommendations by July 15, 2017.</h1> A committee has been established by the Ministry of Finance, Central Board of Direct Taxes, to recommend strategies for the swift recovery of outstanding direct tax arrears. The committee, comprising senior tax officials, will examine the nature and extent of tax arrears, propose measures for their collection, and analyze the age profile of these arrears to make policy recommendations. It will also assess regional differences in demand collection, evaluate the effectiveness of the 'naming and shaming' policy for defaulters, and suggest additional monitoring parameters for significant cases. The committee's report is due by July 15, 2017.
