of <h1>Rejected Applications Under Companies Act 1956 Cannot Be Reconsidered Under 2013 Act, Clarifies Ministry Circular.</h1> The circular from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs clarifies that applications previously rejected by Regional Directors under Section 22(1)(ii)(b) of the Companies Act, 1956, due to being time-barred, cannot be reconsidered under Section 16(1)(a) of the Companies Act, 2013. Despite the absence of a specified limitation period in the 2013 Act, the extinguished limitation from the 1956 Act cannot be revived. This decision follows consultation with the Department of Legal Affairs and is issued with the approval of the Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
