of <h1>Selfie Sticks Classified Under New Customs Tariff Heading 9620 00 00, Effective January 2017.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has clarified the classification of selfie sticks, with or without Bluetooth, under the customs tariff. Following a review by the World Customs Organization (WCO) effective January 1, 2017, a new heading 9620 00 00 was established under the Finance Act, 2016. Selfie sticks, also known as selfie pods, fall under this classification as they are designed to hold devices like smartphones or cameras for taking self-portraits. This classification applies regardless of whether the selfie sticks are equipped with wired or wireless remote controls.
